Here is a playlist featuring the five songs nominated for ‘Best Original Song’ at the Oscars. I have selected the most official videos available (even if it’s only a partial version of the song) so they will be less likely to get taken down anytime soon and cause dead links.
It’s a strong field this year from melancholy to upbeat pop, with a nice bit of pure Disney in there too. I’m fond of a few of them, though I’m a little sick of JT as I’ve been hearing that on the radio for months already. I expect ‘La La Land’ will win it, most likely with ‘City of Stars’ (which is a proper earworm), though my personal choice would be ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from ‘Moana’ which might just have an outside chance of snatching the award.
