EE British Academy Film Awards – Printable BAFTA Ballot 2019/2020

Download our 2020 BAFTA Ballot PDF here! Or as images by clicking on the thumbnails!

With the Golden Globes long gone and the Oscar’s coming unusually soon, this week we have one of my favourite awards, the EE British Academy Film Awards, otherwise known as the BAFTAs, on Sunday February 2nd, presented this year by Graham Norton. Join in with your friends and family using our 2020 BAFTAs Ballot you can print out and fill in!

I’ve only seen a handful of these nominees so far, and so my predictions will be based more on what I’ve heard than on the very little I’ve seen (which may increase a bit in the next few days). Have a go yourself and please comment below what your predictions are.

I will be using my normal scoring system, 1. to indicate my first choice of what I think will win, 2. to show what I think could beat my first choice, and usually, I put a P. for my personal choice of what I think should win. This can later be scored as 2pts for a correct first choice win and 1pt for a correct 2nd choice, no points are given for personal preferences winning as that’s more out of interest and self-expression but really you can use whatever scoring system you like!

Again the PDF download is here for the 2020 BAFTAs Ballot and I’ll do a post in a few days with my predictions of who’s going to win!

My BAFTA Predictions 2018 & Printable Ballot Sheet

I like the BAFTAs, they’re like an early Oscars with films that have been successful (and available to see) this side of ‘the pond’. This year due to being particularly busy I haven’t been able to watch as many nominated films as usual, though I’m still trying to get through a fair few before the Oscars, so some of my predictions for what’s likely to win this weekend at the BAFTA ceremony are guesses. Still, I’ll give it a go.

The scoring system is as standard, I predict 1st choice (2pts if correct), 2nd choice (1pt if correct), then indicate my preferred winner with a P (which carries no points but is for self-expression). I’ve not seen enough of the films to be able to give a personal favourite in all categories, though I will where possible.

Here’s my printable ballot sheet for you to have a go at predicting the winners. Why not print off a few and challenge your friends and family to see who is most accurate? It adds a little extra excitement to watching the awards ceremony.

The awards will be presented tomorrow evening, Sunday February 18th, hosted by Joanna Lumley, so they should be absolutely fabulous! Here are my predictions in full for the BAFTAs:

BAFTA Nominations 2018

Now that the Golden Globes are out of the way, we quickly move on to the next big award nominations announcement with the BAFTAs. I got up early this morning and sat with my scones and clotted cream to watch the live announcement and post-announcement discussion online.

The British Academy often put forward a slightly different mix of films to other awards, partly due to differing release dates making films that were in last year’s Oscars now eligible for this year’s BAFTAs and the nods often going to a more ‘British’ line-up, with specifically ‘British’ categories. It’s wonderful to see ‘Paddington 2‘ in particular being nominated for a handful of awards.

There are plenty of nominations for films such as ‘The Death of Stalin’ and ‘Blade Runner 2049’ which weren’t included in the nominations for the Globes, as well as a more robust list of nominations for ‘Darkest Hour’ which may bode well for the Oscars nominations. I will be posting reviews of many of the nominated films steadily over the next few weeks so watch this page for updates.

The awards will be presented on February 18th by Joanna Lumley, so they should be absolutely fabulous!

My Golden Globes 2018 Predictions & printable ballot sheet

NOTE: This post is about the Golden Globes that were Awarded early in 2018 not the ones that will be given out in 2019. For the Golden Globes announced December 2018 (to be awarded in Jan 2019) please go to this year’s page HERE.

Here I go with trying to predict the winners at this weekend’s Golden Globes! The ceremony hosted by Seth Meyers will be aired on the evening of Sunday, January 7th.

You can have a go at predicting the winners too with my printable PDF ballot sheet by clicking here or on the PDF logo. It’s 2-pages, one for the movies categories and one for television.

The usual system applies, 1st choice, 2nd choice, P for my preferred winner. They can later be scored 2pts for correct first choice, 1pt for a correct second choice, and no points for a correct preferred winner as that’s just for interest’s sake.

As I’ve not seen a lot of these (though I’ve just finished ‘Feud: Bette and Joan’ which was excellent) I’ll be far off with my predictions and can’t really pick a favourite in some areas if I’ve not seen any of the nominees, so there’s a lot of guesswork and basing my picks on what I’ve heard and read.

UPDATED: Jan 8th to list the winners.
